Summertime

Summertime is most certainly upon us in Louisiana. The kids got out of school today. I have decided that blogging is something I want to start doing again after trying my hand at it a while back. I feel good when I can "write" down my thoughts. I will have plenty of time to do this in the coming months.

The past year and a half have brought some difficult health issues my way. I have been struggling with an open wound for over a year now. I have been going through extensive wound care therapy since it began in January of 09. After several months of trying various approaches of wound healing, it was decided by my doctor and therapist that I try Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. I did that for a little over 30 days back in February and saw remarkable improvement. Once I finished with these treatments, I went back three times a week for wound care treatment. This has been very successful. I am now happy to only have to go to the clinic once every two weeks. The wound is almost 100% healed! I am taking a very good vitamin used for wounds as well as eating plenty of protein and fruits and vegetables! I am feeling very healthy at this time in my life. I hope to continue on this good path!

As for other news, I am blessed beyond words with beautiful nieces and nephews. My family proudly welcomed my twin nephews Reid and Ryan into the world September 23, 2009. These boys are such a blessing to all of our lives. They were six weeks early, but thank God they are perfectly healthy happy baby boys! It is so much fun for my family to have such a big part in these babies lives. They are simply a joy to be around! It amazes all of us to see the changes they are making as they are growing! Their mom is definitely proud but she does have her hands full indeed! The boys have two older sisters that are very much in love with them and really try to help Mommy any way they can!

My oldest niece just finished 5th grade and will be starting Middle School next year! I can't believe she is growing up so fast! It seems like yesterday she started school!! I am so thankful to have played such an important part in her elementary school years. I hope the transition from elementary to Middle school is easy for her. The school is great as far as transitioning from what I have heard.

As for the summer, my plans are to spend as much time with the kids as possible! With having the health issues to deal with last year, I didn't get to have much of a summer! I have two beautiful tomato plants that my brother in law planted for me in 5gallon buckets. So far, they are gorgeous plants. I hope they produce lots of good summer tomatoes for me. I also have some pretty flowers planted in a small flowerbed! This is the first time in many years I have been able to contend with flowers or anything so I am excited! I love nature and being outdoors!

I plan to do some good summer reading of course. Right now I am reading A Year On Ladybug Farm by Donna Ball. It is an excellent book and I plan to read the other two books that are in the series. Reading is such a passion of mine. Nothing like getting lost in a good book.

Looking forward to watching my favorite summertime reality show Big Brother which premeires July 8! I hope this season is great just like the rest of them have been! I love this show and look forward to it every year!

I guess I have written enough for one posting! Hope to do this on a regular basis like I said! Hopefully I can make this interesting for readers!
